 Alleging that those leaders who are responsible for destroying the peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir for their selfish gains, Apni Party (AP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said they will not leave any stone un turned until statehood is restored Addressing a day-long convention after several political activists joined AP in Srinagar on Wedneday, Bukhari without naming former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, said Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was responsible for the present situation in the Jammu and Kashmir after they formed coalition government.AP president took a strong jibe over the recent comments made by various local political leaders over the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehbooba Mufti, president of PDP had recently said her party is not fighting for statehood but for restoration of pre August 5, 2019 position.“I hear the hollow cries from certain local leaders who are saying that they don’t want JK to get its Statehood back. I find taint in their motives. Whose A-team are they playing now? They have always played with the emotions of the people of J&K and now I feel that with such propaganda they are adamant over the devastation of our people,” Bukhari referred to Mehbooba. I am ashamed that I was part of the corrupt government, he said.
He said that the same leaders who are lamenting and shedding crocodile tears today are responsible for maliciously destroying the peace and prosperity of J&K for their selfish gains.
Moreover, the Party President welcomed the new entrants saying that the restoration of Statehood is a prime concern of the Party.“Our party will leave no stone unturned until statehood is reinstated. This is my commitment on behalf of my party that we will never compromise on this issue even though some are now giving a silent nod to it.” Bukhari said.
The new entrants thanked the Party leadership for providing them with such a platform and avowed to strengthen the party at grass root levels.
